With the event of mixed martial arts (MMA) becoming mainstream in the media, more and more people are looking to martial arts and self-defense classes as an alternative to the usual gym and fitness routine. At Warrior Institute of Chicago, we have been training in and teaching martial arts long before the media hype. We proudly bring forth this tradition to new generations of martial artists by offering a variety of classes to our students.
Our martial art is founded on a cohesive set of martial art skills derived from a number of Asian countries including but not limited to China, Korea, and Japan. These martial art skills are grounded into a common core of principles and strategies derived from Modern Western Science. It stresses physical training, balance, and stabilization along with total body training, meditation, and proper breathing. Kuk Sool is about humility, self-discipline, self-control, loyalty, integrity, and respect for yourself as well as for others.
The Warrior Institute of Chicago martial arts curriculum provides a great way for teens & adults to stay in shape. It won’t become dull or routine because as soon as you get better and continue learning, there are always more challenges ahead to keep you inspired and coming back for more!
Tap into our Adult Self-Defense class, that truly teaches self-defense for the real world. You’ll learn to how to target attacks to the body’s most vulnerable points, so that you can defend yourself as quickly and efficiently as possible. Training can also cover situational awareness to develop an understanding of one's surroundings, learning to understand the psychology of a street confrontation, and identifying potential threats before an attack occurs. It is perfect for those that are looking to improve their self-defense skills or those that just want to get into the best shape of their lives.
